Higher Access smallest new additions...
The Pop-Up mini scissor replaces the need for ladders and steps to be used indoors in low level access environments. It is ideal for maintenance and electric works, with a working height of 3.63m and no requirement for official training. Higher Access has added a number of these to their growing fleet as they felt that they fit with their narrow access fleet for niche situations. For more information please see our Equipment page.

Higher Access welcomes CTE additions to fleet
Higher Access has added the new CS135 and CS170 from CTE UK to their growing fleet. Both machines are able to work internally or externally due to their powerful diesel engines and 240V mains electric option. They also run a 110V supply to the cage for power tools to avoid trailing wires from height. The CS135 works to a maximum of 13.2m with a class leading up to 6.9m of outreach. The CS170 has a maximum working height of 17.0m and up to 7.5m of outreach from extremely low heights. For more information see our Equipment pages.

Leo 23GT sets up for Amir Khan's success
Amir Khan took another seamless step along his road to the world lightweight title with a seventh-round stoppage of Martin Kristjansen at Bolton Arena on Saturday 6th April. Higher Access' Leo 23GT was brought in to install the rigging and lights in readiness for the fight. The Leo 23GT is less than a metre wide and has extremely low ground bearing pressure, allowing it to enter the arena easily and without causing any damage to the flooring. With 11.2m of outreach and a working height of 23.00m the Leo 23GT worked with ease above the ring and between the television cameras and equipment. See our Equipment page for more details.

New Leo 30T
Higher Access have recently added a second Leo 30T to their growing fleet. The Leo 30T has a working height of 30.0m and up to 15.5m of outreach. Partner Peter Ashburner says of their new addition, We're very happy with the range we currently offer, but felt that we now needed to increase availability to our customers through multiple machines at each height. The Leo 30T is available to hire from a single day, with or without an operator (subject to correct training being in place) - please see our Equipment page for more information.

White Ribbon Campaign UK
Bury Metropolitan Borough Council are currently working in support of the White Ribbon Campaign UK. This is the UK branch of the global campaign to ensure men take more responsibility for reducing the level of violence against women. The WRC is the largest effort in the world of men working to end men's violence against women. It relies on volunteer support and financial contributions from individuals and organizations. In 1991, a handful of men in Canada decided they had a responsibility to urge men to speak out against violence against women. They decided that wearing a white ribbon would be a symbol of men's opposition to men's violence against women. After only six weeks preparation, as many as one hundred thousand men across Canada wore a white ribbon. Many others were drawn into discussion and debate on the issue of men's violence. There are now White Ribbon Campaigns operating in many countries around the world. The focus of Bury MBC's campaign is the banner on the clock tower in the Town Hall gardens, which today was fitted by Higher Access using their Leo 23GT tracked access platform. For more details on the Leo 23GT please see our equipment pages.

Leo 30T sheds light at BFC
When the time came to replace and repair spotlights at Turf Moor, home of Burnley Football Club, the extremely compact, lightweight Teupen Leo 30T was called in to assist. In previous years the work had been carried out from a very large vehicle mounted platform parked outside the stadium, but the size of the Leo 30T allowed it to get right inside alongside the pitch. The Leo 30T's large non-marking tracks spread the load of the machine on the delicate surfaces ensuring that when the work was completed it was as if it had never been there. The Leo 30T has a maximum working height of 30.0m and up to 15.50m of outreach, weighing only 4,200kg and can be hired from a minimum single day rental period.

Z20E arrives
Higher Access recently made its first foray into the vehicle mounted platform market with the addition of a CTE Z20E to its fleet. The Z20E is mounted on a 3.5tonne Nissan Cabstar chassis which falls within a standard category B driving licence, allowing anyone with a full UK licence to drive it. It has a 'Z' boom configuration which provides the operator with a highly versatile working envelope and no tailswing. Unlike standard telescopic booms; the 'Z' is able to work in straight lines, horizontal and vertical as well as any combination. This makes the Z20E ideal for tasks such as facade maintenance, window cleaning or sign work. The Z20E is available for hire from a single day period.

St. Peter's Church Roof
When delicate repairs to the roof were needed at St. Peter's Church, the Leo 23GT stepped in to reach the parts other access platforms can't! St. Peter's is set in lush grounds access through a narrow gateway - easily accessed by the 0.98m wide Teupen. The work on the roof was on the rear elevation, meaning it was inaccessible by vehicle-mounted or other standard platforms. The rubber crawler tracks on the Leo 23GT allowed it to traverse the fragile paving and lawned areas without causing any damage. The 23GT has unrivalled up-and-over outreach of 11.20m which meant that it could reach over to the missing slates on the roof and the job was completed in record time!
